During the FleetNet Annual Christmas Party for employees, a live auction to benefit a local charity raised $4,545. Employees were asked to donate items and/or baskets of items for the auction beginning a month before the event. Each basket had a theme and was displayed before the start of the event. The goal was to raise enough money to purchase 60 winter coats (approx., $1,500) for needy children in the area. Over 43 baskets were donated along with over 60 pairs of gloves and approximately 100 handmade (knitted) hats and scarfs.
Due to the amazing response from FleetNet employees, we have donated 75 coats to date along with providing a meal to over 80 children. FleetNet was also able to purchase and distribute 80 blankets and gift bags which included a McDonald’s gift card, toiletry items, multiple snacks and various treats. Plans are in the works to meet other needs for local area children with the remainder of the funds raised.
