FleetNet America Hosts Maintenance Council Meeting

Members Impressed With Technology Center

(Cherryville, North Carolina, June 1, 2011) FleetNet America hosted the North Carolina Maintenance Council – Charlotte Chapter Meeting on Tuesday, May 10th. Approximately 50 members of the council were in attendance and were impressed to see firsthand the operation in real-time and how the system and people work together to handle the customer’s needs. One member stated, “This is a lot different than what I had pictured, it is actually a command center.”

Before the tours, Oren Summer, CEO of FleetNet began the program with the history of the company and expansion plans for the next three years. Tim Smith, VP of Roadside, and Stephen Crane, Sr. Director of TMcare, discussed emergency roadside and maintenance in regards to CSA and what FleetNet customers are doing to comply. James Williams, Sr. Director of Vendor Relations discussed how FleetNet qualifies vendors and the requirements used for the towing program. When the program concluded, another member stated, “I had no idea this IS what you do AND how you do it. This was such an informative visit FOR our association.”

The NCTA Maintenance Council is an organization for transportation maintenance professionals. The main purpose of The Maintenance Council is to provide a forum for people to share information, promote professional maintenance practices and network with suppliers and peers in the industry. The Charlotte Chapter meets the second Tuesday of the month. Jason Murphy with Charlotte Truck Center is Chairperson.
