Press Release – (Cherryville, North Carolina, February 15, 2005) – Oren Summer, President of FleetNet America, Inc. has been named the recipient of Commercial Carrier Journal’s 2005 Technology and Maintenance Career Leadership Award. In its 29th year, this award acknowledges a career of dedication to professionalism and excellence in vehicle maintenance management. The Career Leadership Award recognizes personal and professional integrity along with the recipient’s reputation within the maintenance industry.
Mr. Summer has worked for FleetNet America and its previous parent company, Carolina Freight Carriers, since 1969. During that time, Mr. Summer has held various positions within the equipment and maintenance area. In 1993, Mr. Summer was named President of Carolina Breakdown Service, Inc. whose name was later changed to FleetNet America, Inc. In 1995, FleetNet America was acquired by Arkansas Best Corporation. Mr. Summer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC.
